BREEDER OF SIX CHAMPIONS (including 1 INT.CH.) |
|
This kennel was first established in 1968 shortly after the purchase of a pet basset bitch with whom we won a lst prize at a limited show, including a silver trophy. However, after a meeting with Judy Wilson of Barrabooka Bassets, who introduced us to some real show quality bassets, we realised our pet was not so technically good. We then studied basset hound books, record books, pedigrees, photographs etc. and this tempted us to go in search of a show quality specimen. (see basset history from 1971). Although not a large breeding kennel my aim is to breed sound stock with outgoing temperaments with correct fore and hind angulations. A basset’s gait should be effortless. Observing the gait of the basset hound is the most important step in evaluating the structure of the breed. As we all know the basset hound is a hunting hound and should therefore be of sound structure. This heavy structure requires excellent movement capable of great endurance. We do not show our hounds extensively I hope you enjoy my website. Site updated 23/11/07
